April 02, 2020

Elijah Williams' death hit his family hard. But just before leaving for Heaven, the 11-year-old boy got to meet some of his favorite musicians. And the heartwarming moment serves as a treasured memory for his grieving family.
It's a heartbreaking thing to watch your baby suffer. And Kiara Swope, the grieving mom of Elijah Williams, knows this all too well.

At the young age of 11, Elijah finally found healing in Heaven after a 3-year battle with cancer. He passed away on March 27, 2020.
"Elijah's physical fight is now complete, as he transitioned to heaven on Friday," Elijah's cousin, Michael Watson II, shared on social media. "He didn't leave this world without knowing how much he was loved though."
Elijah not only felt the love of his family but also from some special new friends, too!
Facetime With Stars Just Before Elijah Williams' Death
Just before Elijah Williams' death, the young boy enjoyed a virtual meet-and-greet with some of his all-time favorite musical artists. And he also received a message from Joey Logano, a professional NASCAR race car driver.
Musicians Drake, The Weeknd, and J. Cole all took the time to shine a light during what Elijah's mom describes as his "last difficult days." Through video chat, each of the artists offered up words of encouragement to this brave, young fighter.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. I love you, man," J. Cole said, bringing a smile to the little boy's face.
"I'm so honored that I'm one of your favorite artists, buddy. Thank you," said The Weeknd.
NASCAR driver Joey Logano also sent a message to Elijah, hoping to help lift his spirits.

The kind words from his heroes meant so much to Elijah. But getting to see the sick boy have that moment of joy has also been a comfort to the family after Elijah Williams' death.

"To see my baby glow when he saw his favorite celebrities just made my heart smile," Kiara Swope said. "I wish The Weeknd, J.Cole and Drake nothing but blessings on top of blessings."
A Light In Dark Times
The act of kindness was a bright spot during a dark time. And that's why the boy's family has been sharing the incredible story with others. When posting the video of Elijah's video chats, his cousin Michael wrote:
"In a time where there seems like so much is out of our control, one thing that we all have the power to give + show others is LOVE. 2 Corinthians 5:8"
Michael went on to tell a news outlet, "My family finds comfort in being able to share Elijah's story and last experience with the world. With Elijah being lifted up all over the globe as we speak, this private moment of love and light is now a bittersweet silver lining for everyone."
