Dad Dancing In The Background Of Daughter's Video Doesn't Realize She's Filming for School

1st-grader Delaney Jones accidentally caught her dad dancing as she filmed a video for class. And the hilarious moment, viewed millions of times, makes for such a positive news story!

Like many growing up in the "Youtube Generation", 6-year-old Delaney Jones enjoys making "how-to" videos. And usually, these films are for her eyes alone.

But on this particular day, the first-grader hit record on a tutorial intended for her teacher. But as the camera rolled, her dad dancing in the background stole the show!

Story Behind Viral Video Of Dad Dancing

You can already tell Delaney is a smart cookie. She knows any good crafting experience isn't complete without some upbeat tunes. So, the 6-year-old uses voice commands to have her Alexa device play some music.

As the Kidz Bop version of 'Uptown Funk' by Bruno Mars starts playing, Delaney sweetly gives instructions on how to make the craft she's creating.

But something else entirely is going on behind the precious child.

No sooner than the peppy beat of 'Uptown Funk' starts playing, Delaney's dad is dancing and clapping along in the background!

Isaac Jones is fully aware his daughter has the camera rolling. He just doesn't realize Delaney will be sending this "how-to" to her teacher.

"Daddy thought she was just making a 'tutorial' like she typically does," Delaney's mom, Jennifer Jones, later explained.

Isaac's moves just get better and better and pretty soon, he has Delaney's siblings getting in on the action. It's a genuinely hilarious moment that gets even funnier once Delaney uploads the video to the classroom app!

Dad Dancing Becomes Viral Sensation

"I hope her teacher laughed as hard as I did," Jennifer wrote in her post.

But Delaney's teacher wasn't the only one laughing. Isaac Jone's killer moves spread like wildfire across the Internet, garnering millions and millions of views!

Turns out, we could all use a good laugh. And the inspiring dad dancing responded to his overnight fame in the best way.

"We've all had tragedy this year. Some more than others, and my family is no exception experiencing financial hardship, sickness, even death... but why dwell on that?" Isaac wrote in his own post on Facebook after his video went viral. "Point is, I'm so glad to spread a little levity and distraction in a time when I know I certainly need it, so I'm hoping you've needed it too! Thanks for allowing me the blessing of sharing my incredible family that always keeps me laughing."

On top of spreading joy during these dark times, this dancing dad has some incredible advice for all the fathers out there.

"Guys: take these chances we get to make memories with your amazing kids, the miracles they are," Isaac said. "It's one of the best parts about being a parent."

Positive Outlook To Inspire Us All

The funny video was definitely the laugh we all needed. But there's more to it than just a few chuckles. The Jones family has had their share of tough times in 2020.

All five family members survived COVID-19. For a while, both Isaac and Jennifer even lost their jobs. It was a scary time for all of them.

But the video of this dad dancing shows how they've chosen joy despite the adversity they've faced. Isaac didn't know he'd go viral. He didn't know the silly moment would be seen by anyone other than his daughter.

"I was just doing what we would normally do. I was just being goofy dad," he said.

Even though they've struggled, these parents are setting an example for their kids, showing them how to remain hopeful.

"There’s a storm, but there's always going to be the sunlight after the storms," Isaac and Jennifer say they wish to teach their children.

The hilarious dad dancing and the amazing family's inspiring outlook is what makes this one of the best positive news stories!

"20 years from now, we'll look back and say 'remember that time where it was really hard and it was really emotional and the whole world was struggling but we were able to find joy in those moments?'," Jennifer said. "I think that’s why people relate to this video so much."
