In a video posted on YouTube, husband and wife and former The Voice judges Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani sing “Love is Alive.”

A Powerful Tribute And Duet

Originally released in the 1980s, the song’s lyrics mention how love grows with every simple, seemingly mundane act.

“Love is alive

And at our breakfast table

Every day of the week

Live is alive

And it grows every day and night”

With The Judds being primarily a country act, “Love is Alive” is a country song. Now, Gwen Stefani is not a country artist. She started as the lead singer for the rock band No Doubt. Throughout her career, even when she went solo, rock has been her primary genre.

However, Gwen shows that she is more than able to handle a beloved country tune. While her husband, Blake, does help with some of the singing responsibilities, Gwen does the heavy lifting on the cover and does so exceedingly well. 

Blake is heard at different times throughout the song, but Gwen’s voice shines in the song. 

Others who commented on the video also pointed out how great Gwen sounds on the recording.
