He Went Viral As a Kid 10 Years Ago, but It's the Bond with His Grandpa That Steals the Show Now

Noah Ritter was dubbed the “Apparently Kid” ten years ago after his adorable interview with Newswatch 16’s Sofia Ojeda at the Wayne County Fair. However, these days, what’s even more precious is Noah's beautiful relationship with his grandfather, whom he calls Grandpa Jack!

In August 2014, 5-year-old Noah and his grandpa visited the Wayne County Fair in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Between a run on the super slide and other rides, which made Noah “dizzy” and “scared half to death,” he chatted with a local news anchor and charmed his way into the hearts of celebrities and regular folks across the county. Most notable in the classic viral video was Noah’s fascination and usage of the word “apparently”—hence, his nickname.

Noah, the "Apparently Kid" Found Instant Fame

Following the viral video, Noah found instant fame and was a regular guest on The Ellen Degeneres Show. It was Grandpa Jack who flew to California with Noah for those appearances. Noah met stars like Jennifer Garner, Sofia Vergara, Jim Carrey, and Bryce Dallas Howard. He also got to meet Former President Bill Clinton. But when Noah returned to the Wayne County Fair this year and recited a few of his iconic lines from 2014, he seemed far from starstruck. Instead, Noah gave a great big shout-out to the grandfather, with whom he shares so many wonderful memories.

On August 4, 2024, Noah chatted with Pennsylvania’s ABC affiliate, WNEP Newswatch 16's,  Jeremy Lewan. Noah recreated bits of his first interview, exactly ten years earlier, and was asked how he felt about repeating those words years later. Noah said, “It feels pretty good. I feel nostalgic about it. It makes me reminisce about being here in this exact spot 10 years ago.”

In fact, Noah and Grandpa Jack visit the Wayne County Fair every year, and the two are often seen together in videos on Noah’s YouTube channel. They watch and review new movies, play mini-golf together, visit amusement parks and nature parks, and more. It’s clear that the two are each other’s most loyal and biggest fans!

Noah and His Grandpa Jack Are the Best Buddies

Noah, now 15, hasn’t posted as often as he used to. He has gotten busier with his high school classes, football, track, and other activities. Plus, he’s also preparing to drive. Whatever Noah has on his plate, though, there doesn’t seem to be anything getting in the way of hanging out with Grandpa Jack. Regarding Grandpa Jack, Noah said during his most recent interview, “I wouldn’t trade my buddy for the world.”

“Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.” Proverbs 23:22

A Prayer for Dealing with Family Rejection This Holiday Season - Your Daily Prayer - December 5

One of the best times of the year can also be one of the most difficult. Harvest décor leads into Christmas bells and lights. We fill the calendar slots with parties and events. This can create a low-level hum of anxiety if the upcoming family get-togethers feel like a risky walk through a minefield.
