87-Year-Old Fights Off Attacker, Then Feeds Him While She Waited for Police
August 08, 2023

A woman successfully defended herself from an intruder and later fed her attacker.
Unfortunately, crime is a real thing in society. Websites and television news broadcasts are filled with stories of violence and hate. For one reason or another, there are people who want nothing more than to bring about disorder and chaos and inflict harm upon others.

But thankfully, there are other people who remain a shining example of the best of society. Even while someone is trying to cause harm to them, they choose kindness. One of those good, honest and caring people is 87-year-old Marjorie Perkins.
Marjorie is a resident of Brunswick, Maine. She’s lived in the same house for 40 years, according to People. But the longtime resident of Brunswick could not believe her eyes when she woke up early one morning.
The 87-year-old was awakened by a teenager, who had broken into her house, standing over her bed. He was reportedly not wearing pants or shoes at the time. The intruder then began physically assaulting Marjorie, telling her he was going to “cut her,” according to the Brunswick, Maine Police Department.

But Marjorie was not going to go down without a fight.
“He said, ‘I’m going to cut you,'” Marjorie told The Times Record. “I thought to myself, ‘If he’s going to cut, I’m going to kick.’ So, I jumped into my shoes.”
Marjorie Defended Herself and Then Feed Her Teenage Attacker
Shen used a chair in her room to shield and defend herself from the assault from her intruder and attacker. Marjorie told the outlet that the male teenager “kept punching me and pushing me.”
Finally, the teen grew tired from assaulting Marjorie and went into the kitchen in order to find something to eat. That’s when Marjorie did something unusual: she offered him something to eat.
The teenager, People reports, mentioned that he "hadn’t had anything to eat for quite a while.” So, understanding that her attacker needed food, she gave him some crackers, two containers of Ensure and two tangerines.
As the young man was chowing on the food Marjorie had provided him, she called 911.
Despite the teenager’s attack, police said Marjorie did not suffer any injuries. Her attacker was later apprehended and transported to a juvenile detention center.

However, after all that, Marjorie does not wish ill on the teenager. In fact, she hopes the best for the young man.
“I hope he gets help,” Marjorie said.
