The Bible tells us that we struggle not only against physical and mental trials and temptations but that life is ultimately spiritual warfare, in which we battle against demonic spirits in pursuit of salvation and communion with God. We must have faith, humility, and courage in this spiritual warfare, knowing that Jesus has already won the victory over death and satan.
"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:11-12)
