Every child deserves to be loved. But the heartbreaking reality is that 1,200 kids enter foster care every day in the United States, taken from their biological families for a variety of reasons. The children are put into a system that can be disruptive, confusing and even disheartening for the kids. And that bitter truth makes the following 25 adoption photos even sweeter! Together We Rise is a foster charity run by young adults and former foster youth dedicated to improving the lives of foster children in America. And as part of that mission, the group has been using their Instagram page to share adoption photos documenting that incredible moment where a child moves from foster care into a loving family of their very own. In 2011, we provided this young man with a bicycle on our tour across the country. Susannah Steele was one of the volunteers that was at the the event that day. Little did they know that one day they would meet again and both of their lives would be changed forever. Today, Susannah and Ben Steele, officially adopted him and their last name could not be any more perfect. "We got a call one Friday afternoon begging us to take a newborn in "just until Monday." Over 30 agencies in Los Angeles County had been contacted. No open beds. We were reluctant as we had 3 and 4 year old adopted daughters and a newly placed 5 year old foster son. But we said yes. Needless to say 3 days turned into forever and we couldn't be more blessed or excited that our son is forever ours. Once you are exposed to the world of foster care and adoption, your life is forever changed.
