We hear the phrase 'Divine Intervention' tossed around a lot in society. We often see headlines that tell us that It would take 'divine intervention' for that ball team to make it to the World Series or for that politician to be elected into office. But what is divine intervention really, and what are some divine intervention examples that show clearly how God steps in and makes His plans known?

Divine Intervention Definition

Divine intervention, quite simply put, is when God steps in and changes the outcome of a situation. Basically, divine intervention is another way of saying 'miracle.' People point to divine intervention when there is no other explanation other than God for how something turned out. Miraculous healing, people being in the right place at the right time, circumstances that protected someone from harm's way are all examples of Divine Intervention.

Divine Intervention in the Bible

There are many stories in the Bible that are perfect examples of 'Divine Intervention.' One of the more notable would be when God parted the red sea. Moses being rescued from the reeds would definitely qualify. But in reality, God ordains everything. Everything that happens, He has made happen or allowed to happen. Everything. He knows the outcome of every situation. 

And yet, these miraculous examples of divine intervention are still important. Because they serve as reminders of His power. They remind us of His goodness. CNN journalist and author Jennifer Skiff calls these moments 'God Stories.' She explains that they are defining moments in an individual's life that provided undeniable proof of God's existence for him or her.

Isaiah 63:7-9

Jennifer Skiff shared an encounter she had that caused her to write her book, God Stories. She shared about a time when she was going through a dark time.
