This House Shall Stand

This House Shall Stand

As I look across the American landscape I am distressed by the crumbling neighborhoods. Half the houses are destroyed- at least one fourth are leaning. But, friends, my home is not made of gingerbread but brick. My house shall stand because it is built by a wise man on a Rock. I am insured by the prayers of saints and the swords of angels. My children are cultivated by a brave father and warmed by a gentle mother so this house rings with laughter because they are eager to imitate what it is best. Any vestiges of sarcasm, resentment and stubbornness have been tossed in the trash. And my four walls are framed by faith, frugality, honor and an unyielding hope for tomorrow. And though the earth quakes and the mountains collapse this house, this house shall stand. - Jason Goldtrap 1.19.10
