God Sends A Furry Angel To Find Woman Missing After Car Accident Just In The Nick Of Time

A Michigan State Police trooper and his K-9 partner found a woman who had been missing for days following a car accident.

Dogs are remarkable creatures placed on earth by the Creator of the universe, the same God who hung the sun, moon and stars in place. Those furry, four-legged beings are loving, caring and dependable to a fault. They are also some of the most persistent and resilient creatures, with most literally not understanding the meaning of the word “quit.”

Luckily for one woman involved in a car crash near Detroit, Michigan, this is the case when it comes to Woodson, a German Shepherd, according to USA Today.

On Aug. 7, around 6:30 p.m., deputies were called to a residence to begin investigating a single-vehicle crash with possible injury, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were informed that a vehicle had struck a tree on the caller’s property, which was near a cornfield. However, the driver of the vehicle, a 45-year-old woman, was nowhere to be found.

The office also points out that investigators later determined that the crash had happened three days earlier, on Aug. 4. It had also been days since the woman’s family had any contact with her. Her family hadn’t heard from her since Aug. 5, according to deputies.

Then, on Aug. 8, additional officers, including members of the Michigan State Police’s Aviation Unit and K-9 Units, were requested. They assisted in the search for the missing woman. 

While the woman had been missing for days, trooper Jeff Schrieber and Woodson refused to give up, according to WXYZ-TV.

Dog, Trooper Find Injured Woman Just In the Nick of Time

“I’ve been doing this so long, you know?” Jeff said. “You make contact with the family. You feel for them, and you know that, you know, you’re just trying to have a good outcome.”

Thankfully, that is what happened. 

The missing woman was found by Jeff and Woodson deep in a cornfield. The discovery happened right before they were about to wrap up after nine hours of searching.

“I was in the middle of the cornfield still, and he [Woodson] proceeded to pull me about 75 yards in the right direction,” Jeff said. 

Jeff and Woodson had found the injured and missing woman. And just in time, too!

“We knew she didn’t have much longer in order to live,” Jeff explained.

WXYZ-TV reports that medical professionals told officers that Jeff and Woodson’s discovery came just at the right time. The woman would have likely not survived another two hours.
