Teen Takes a CPR Class And the Very Next Day God Puts Her in the Right Place to Save a Friend

After Torri'ell Norwood earned her CPR certification, the teen saved a friend with it following a car accident. God gave her exactly the skill she needed just in time to put it to use!

The first time anyone really thinks about taking a CPR class, it’s usually because their job requires the training, they’re first-time parents, or they’re going into the health profession. For Torri'ell Norwood, it was the latter reason.

This teen took a CPR class and the very next day God puts her in the right place to save a friend!

Divine Intervention Puts Teen In Right Place

Torri’ell wasn’t expecting to need to use her new life-saving skill set so soon. She and her best friend A'zarria Simmons were in a car with a few other friends when their car was hit by another vehicle. Before the smoke and dust settled, everyone in the car scrambled to get out because they were afraid it was going to blow up. When Torri’ell realized her best friend wasn’t running beside her, she realized A’zarria was still in the car.

This teen made the brave decision to risk her life and ran back to the car to find A’zarria. But Torri’ell’s worst nightmare was becoming a reality. Her best friend since the seventh grade wasn’t breathing.

With all the courage and strength God provided, she pulled her best friend from the wreckage and immediately put her new skills to use as she performed CPR.

Before A’zarria began breathing on her own again, Torri’ell completed 30 chest compressions and two rescue breaths. Every chest compression was a prayer to God asking him to breathe life back into her best friend.

Thank God Torri’ell became certified in CPR a mere twenty-four hours beforehand, otherwise A’zarria wouldn’t be here! God put this sweet girl in the right place at the right time and gave her the courage to save a life!

"I immediately started doing CPR on her. She started moving on her own and breathing, so I knew that she was okay. I was just doing what I knew that I had to do,” Torri’ell said.

Although A’zarria doesn’t remember anything from the car accident, her bond with her friend is stronger than ever. She commented, "I wasn't shocked by her doing it because she always does stuff for me. She always has my back. It's deeper than a friendship, it's been deeper than that before this accident and all this happened. It's just made me realize [that] if she wasn't there, I wouldn't be here today.”
