Stranger Reaches Out to Help a Family of Six Whose Van Was Stolen While On Vacation

When a family with six kids went on vacation on the Oregon coast, they only made it one full day before their van, with all their camping gear, 7 bikes, and a stroller, was stolen. But then a complete stranger gives the family a van out of compassion. The family was completely surprised and extremely grateful.

Stranger Gives Family Van After Theirs Was Stolen

The family’s eldest child is about to start college, and two of their daughters will soon go on a mission trip. This was meant to be their last trip while their family is still together. So the family was especially disappointed to have their trip interrupted like this. 

“They could see that there’s a car seat in there. We got all kids stuff. We got kids bikes back there,” the dad, Jarom Nelson, said. “Like, that’s just heartless, you know?”

The person who gave them a van is Randy Robinson, who owns a company that modifies vans called Advanced Four-Wheel Drive. He’s been in the business for half a decade. When he heard about the Nelsons, he decided to give them a spare van he had. 

‘Overwhelmed’ with Gratitude

“The one we want to give you is a four-wheel drive,” Robinson told the Nelsons when he gave them the news over the phone.

The van is a black Nissan NV 30, and will certainly fit the whole family and all of their things.

“I think we are just so overwhelmed. People are so good and kind,” said the mom, Cassidy Nelson.

“We’re just so grateful and just so blown away at the generosity of people,” said Jarom. “Our kids are just like, so overwhelmed … saying, ‘Oh man, there’s so many good people.’ It’s been really good to show that to our kids.” 

The family is overwhelmed by the huge gift. It’s no small thing to be given such an expensive vehicle, and Randy is truly incredibly generous. They will always remember this huge blessing to their family.
