Shannen Doherty Shares Reality In Cancer Update As She Goes Into Surgery: 'I'm Petrified'

Actress Shannen Doherty has faced health issues over the years and recently posted an update on social media about her battle with cancer.
Cancer, no matter the amount of fame and fortune one possesses, is always a scary and frightening word. Receiving a cancer diagnosis from a trusted medical professional will forever change the patient's and their family's life.

In a recent post on Instagram, the “Beverly Hills, 90210” actress wrote that she had undergone surgery in mid-January to remove a tumor from her head.
The caption accompanies a video of Shannen in a hospital bed asking questions before she goes into surgery. The clip shows Shannen in a jovial, upbeat mood. She is even smiling ahead of the medical procedure. She does not appear afraid or worried in the slightest.
However, as Shannen writes in the caption, looks can be deceiving.
“I am clearly trying to be brave but I am petrified,” Shannen posted. “The fear was overwhelming to me.”

She also added what was going through her mind at that moment.
“Scared of all possible bad outcomes, worried about leaving my mom and how that would impact her. Worried that I would come out of surgery not me anymore. This is what cancer can look like.”
Shannen Frequently Posts On Social Media About Her Battle With Cancer
Shannen’s social media post comes after the actress was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer back in early 2020, according to People.
In another, earlier post on her Instagram page, Shannen wrote that a CT scan in January 2023 indicated that cancer cells had made their way to her brain.
In 2015, Shannen announced that she was first diagnosed with breast cancer. But two years later, in 2017, she stated she was in remission. Sadly, though, in 2020, she said that her cancer had returned.

What a sad and horrible situation for Shannen and her family. She will remain in our prayers, knowing we serve a God who can perform miracles.
