She never lost sight of what was really important.

The definition of Brotherhood is simply this: feelings of friendship, support, and understanding. And this fully explains and describes the relationship among these pups. Kiaya, has had the misfortune of losing both eyes but that has only drawn her closer to her brothers who love her so much!

When 10 year-old Kiaya from Michigan was diagnosed with Glaucoma, the news wasn't good. This sweet pooch was certain to lose at least one eye but unfortunately had to have both removed. But, thanks to her loving brothers, Cass and Keller, she's gonna be OK!

These brothers have stepped in to help Kiaya do just about everything. Cass in particular has been by his sister's side everyday.

"Her brothers are pretty amazing at the way they help to guide her around," Gwen Sila, the veterinary ophthalmologist who operated on Kiaya said. "Each of them will stand on either side of her so she doesn't bump into anything and lead her around the yard."

“Cass always allows Kiaya to get to her food dish first and waits for her to start eating,” the owner Jessica VanHusen said. “When I take them in the car, he leans against her to keep her steady because she sometimes gets a little off-kilter. He also loves to groom her.”

“They’re an inspiration to everyone,” VanHusen said. “I hope others will see them and realize that a special needs pet deserves a chance. It takes a little effort, but it’s absolutely worth it.”
