After Being Paralyzed Nearly 2 Years Ago, This Man Walked Across the Stage to Earn His MBA

A paralyzed man walks again at Virginia Union University, for the second time, thanks to a whole lot of determination and a pair of robotic legs. He crossed the stage in a similar manner to get his bachelor's degree last year, and this time, it is for his master's degree in business.

The grad, Jaiden Picot, said, “I am reaching for the stars, taking that next step.”

Two years ago, Jaiden’s life changed when a truck hit him while he was riding an e-scooter. It injured his spinal cord and crushed his neck, leaving him in the hospital for months, paralyzed from the chest down.

Jaiden was told he’d never walk again, but is able to walk with the help of a robotic exoskeleton device.

The MBA grad hopes to pursue a career in real estate and help people with disabilities. He knows from experience how hard it can be to find an accessible home.

He Never Gave Up

After his graduation, he reflected, “My life took a big turn , I could have easily been mad at the world and given up, but I chose to not give up and achieve the goals I had set for myself because these situations try to break you! I learned situations in your life come to direct you to God and to develop something in you, and if I can do it, then it can be done!”

He truly has a never-give-up attitude.

“I just want to help a lot of people out there like me, like to find those accommodating homes where they can feel comfortable and feel very positive to live in," he said of his goals.

I pray that Jaiden finds success in his new career and helps many people who also have disabilities. God will surely use him.
