Mysterious Airport Restaurant Brings Strangers Together

Airports are full of all kinds of people all trying to mind their own business. Everyone is head-down staring at a phone, laptop or book trying to avoid making chit chat with a total stranger. Well the folks at JetBlue wondered how beautiful our world just might be if we took some time to look up and talk to those around us. credit: youtube.com So they decided to encourage people to do just that by creating a restaurant inside an airport called ‘Shared Plate’. Instead of seating individual travelers alone at a table they sat them with a total stranger. At first you can tell people aren’t exactly crazy about the idea. But with grumbling bellies and time to kill between flights they decided to give it a chance. credit: youtube.com The conversations are tense and awkward at first, but slowly these total strangers start to warm up to idea and each other. The coolest part of this restaurant is that there are no menus. And seeing folks faces light up as they chat about their hometowns and families is incredible. Food is always one of the greatest ways to bring people together.
