Dolly Parton's Faith Has Been Her 'Guiding Light' And What She Has To Say About It Is So Inspiring

One legendary, beloved singer and actress credits her faith in God for her success professionally and personally.

Dolly Parton has enjoyed a decades-long and highly successful career in Hollywood. She has produced hit songs for years and starred in several classic films. Dolly has won multiple Grammys and has even received two Academy Award nominations for her musical achievements.

However, despite all the money, fame and success, the “Jolene” singer points back to God, her faith in Him and her spirituality as a “guiding light” in everything she does. 

“So, I just try to live through love as much as I can. And I think that my spirituality has been a guiding light in my life and my strength, really,” Dolly told Fox News. 

Also, in the interview, Dolly stated how much she believes in the words of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”

“Well, my faith impacts everything that I do,” Dolly said. “Because I do believe that through God, all things are possible.” 

Dolly Talks About Praying To God and How She Talks To Him

Dolly also mentioned how she prays to the Lord, what she requests from Him and who else she asks God to touch in her life. 

“And so, I always ask God to bless everything that I do and the people that I work with,” she said. “And to bring all the right things and right people into my life and to take the wrong ones out.”

While she may be in her late 70s, Dolly stays active, still singing and treating audiences to her beautiful voice. So, how has the “9 to 5” singer managed to keep going after all these years? Once again, Dolly points to her spirituality as one big reason.

“And my creative energy and my spiritual energy has really been a great force to keeping me going all these years and still being productive,” she said.

What a terrific testimony from someone who, despite all her success, remains humble enough to acknowledge that God is from where all blessings come. 

Psalm 106:1-2 “Praise you the Lord. O give thanks to the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endures forever. Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? Who can show forth all his praise?”
