Dolly Parton Fan Has Little Time Left So The Country Star Has A Special Surprise For Him

LeGrand Gold was a huge Dolly Parton fan. He was also battling cancer. So, Dolly herself reached out to help check an item off his bucket list!

Showing someone else kindness and love doesn’t cost much. Most of the time, it’s completely free, with the only expense being a few moments of our time. But those moments could mean the world to someone in need. A simple, unexpected act of kindness could put a smile on someone else’s face or change their outlook on life.

Dolly Parton is no stranger to kindness and love. Throughout her career, she has gone out of her way to help her fellow man.

Dolly’s talent, as evidenced by a career spanning decades, is recognized and adored by millions. Despite all her success, Dolly has never stopped showing others love, kindness and care.

Amazing Suprise For Sick Dolly Parton Fan

In a clip posted on YouTube, Dolly calls up and speaks to a Utah man dying of cancer. The man, who is lying down in bed, has a massive smile on his face as he speaks to the “Jolene” singer.

Dolly begins the call with the sick man by thanking him for what he has done for her.

“Well, LG, I really thank you for shooting out the word that you’d like to talk to me,” Dolly says. “I’m just happy that we got to kind of have our journey together in this lifetime. I always want to make people happy with my music and with the things I do and the things I say. I’m just happy to know that I’ve touched your life in some way. So thank you for honoring me with that.”

The man responds that Dolly and her music have been a “huge help” to him. 

Dolly ends the call by telling the man that she “will always love” him. She then sings her hit song for him, changing the lyrics to include the man’s name.

Doctors diagnosed LeGrand Gold, or LG as his loved ones called him, with stage four colorectal cancer in 2021. Sadly, the illness spread to his lymph nodes and liver. In September 2023, doctors gave the father-of-five just six months left to live.

With this heartbreaking news, LG and his family started working on a bucket list to help lift his spirits. And as a Dolly Parton fan, LG added meeting the singer to his list.

"Out of the 11 items [on the list], we thought Dolly would be the impossible, but true to Dolly form, she once again reminds the world that dreams really do come true,” his wife said.

Just two months after his incredible phone call with Dolly, LG died. And the time Dolly Parton took to make LG's seemingly impossible wish come true is something the family will always treasure.
