Boy Calls 911 and When Officer Arrives, He Discovers the Child Just Wanted a Hug

Check out this adorable video where a boy calls 911. These should always be calls for emergencies. However, in this little boy’s mind, needing a hug was a true emergency. Prepare to laugh and enjoy this priceless video. 

At the start of this video, a mother is standing at the front door. She kindly asks her son inside of the home, asking, “Did you call this gentleman?”

There is a police officer standing on the sidewalk. The sweet boy replies honestly by saying that he did call the police. He wanted to give him a hug. The officer is very gracious about the situation. The boy gives him a hug and teaches him a lesson. He shares that the number 9-1-1 is for someone who is in trouble and needs help. 

You Never Know What is Going to Happen When a Boy Calls 911

The policeman says to only ever call that number if they or their mom is hurt or needs help. The boy agrees. I love how the police officer ends his warning and life lesson with a fist bump to lighten the situation. He does a great job. The mom and officer look at each other and she laughs with him about the incident. She smiles at her boys and invites them back into their home.

As we witness this man be so compassionate to this child in a teachable moment, it reminds us that God has great kindness and gentleness towards us when we make mistakes.

Sometimes we intentionally sin, however there are many moments and thoughts within a day in which we do not even have awareness of our sins. Because of Jesus we can celebrate that we have been forgiven and His mercy is new every morning.
