Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye." Matthew 7:3-5As true followers of Christ, we are called to love, not to judge, ostracize or exclude. In fact, Jesus cautions us from being wise in our own sight, and instead calls us to live peaceably with all and to associate with the lowly. And should we encounter those we believe to be weak in faith, we are called to welcome them, rather than to judge. For we are all sinners, saved by God's grace alone!
"To slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life."
