Top Ten Christian Songs About Beauty

I am the mother of a 4 year old daughter. Right now, she believes she is a beautiful princess, gorgeous in her Momma and Daddy's eyes. She is secure. Confident in who she is. But I worry about the future, when she will step into a world of images and media that tell her that her she must fit into a certain mold to be considered beautiful. My best response is to place in her heart, from a young age, a certainty that she is loved by a Heavenly Father who created her uniquely and perfectly beautiful. The message I try to send to her, is that beauty comes from a heart that knows God and that cannot be lost or taken away, regardless of what world says. The list of songs below echoes that message and helps me when I need my own reminder. I hope they do the same for you as well.

Final Thoughts: Sometimes, while she is playing in her room, I hear my daughter singing to herself. I place my head against her door to get a better listen, and my heart swells when I hear her sing the words, "You're God's original work of art!", while she brushes her Barbie's hair. They may be but words, but every time she sings them, they impress upon her a little message, a tiny reminder, of her prettiness in the eyes of her Father. She sings, and she remembers, what the world can never take away from her: God's love. Try as I might, I can't think of anything more beautiful.
