A Stranger Said Something To Her In Kroger, Left The Internet Speechless

"I notice this woman, who was probably in her 50’s, kept staring at me...A couple minutes later, she came up to me and said “I think your clothes are a little too small on you.” 😳😳Completely caught off guard and baffled and also hoping she didn’t say what I thought she said, I said, “excuse me?” And she said, “well no offense but you’re just a bit big to wear those type of clothes...”
Crying In The Kroger Christmas Aisle
Charli shared that her instant reaction was tears. She was in such shock that anyone would find it appropriate to address a stranger this way.[The stranger] said, “I’m not trying to be mean but maybe just reconsider your outfit before leaving your house from now on...”RELATED: Plus-Sized Mom Receives A Hateful Letter After Wearing Leggings The woman certainly wasn't trying to be kind! Charli went on to share in her post what should always be considered - the back story. Without knowing someone's story, there is no way to know how a comment may affect them.
"This lady also doesn’t know that I’ve lost nearly 50 pounds from my heaviest weight before having [my son] but apparently that’s not good enough. My clothes were tighter than what I would normally wear but so what?! It shouldn’t matter what people wear..."
Sage Advice
Most grandmother's are attributed with teaching a very sound piece of advice that should continue to apply at all ages."If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."While Charli was obviously very hurt, she didn't allow the moment to change her perspective. She continued to accept that she was comfortable in her own skin. She's had two beautiful children, which any woman will admit changes the body. She concluded her post with a reminder:
"PLEASE, have some respect for people. You never know what someone is going through or if your one little comment, snicker, stare, whatever will be enough to break someone down or push them over the edge."We think Charli is lovely inside and out. Her response to a hurtful situation was a great reminder to teach our children to love others. Teach them to use their words to encourage and uplift others!
