Abandoned Dog Found In Bathroom With A Letter Explaining Everything

It's hard to imagine why someone would skip out on their pet. Turns out Chewy's owner had no other choice. Folks found the little puppy abandoned in an airport bathroom, along with a heartbreaking note on how his owner was actually trying to save him (and herself) from an abusive situation.

Chewy's owner loved him dearly. But unfortunately, she was in an abusive relationship when she got him. And her boyfriend didn't just hurt her -- he'd get abusive with Chewy, too. So, the dog owner had to go to desperate measures to make sure that her beloved puppy Chewy was okay.

After a nasty fight with her boyfriend, Chewy's owner decided it was time to flee. She was all set to board a flight, but bringing Chewy along meant an extra fee she simply couldn't afford. With no time to think through other options, Chewy's mama did the only thing she could think to do. She left him in the airport bathroom with a note in the hopes someone else could help him.

The note attached to the puppy abandoned in an airport bathroom read:

"Hi I’m Chewy,

My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn’t afford me to get on the flight. She didn’t want to leave me with all her heart but she has NO other option.

My ex boyfriend kicked my dog when we were fighting. And he has a big knot on his head. He probably needs a vet. I love Chewy sooo much. Please love and take care of him. xoxoxoxo"

The poor girl was already facing so much. And leaving Chewy behind had to have been absolutely heart-wrenching.

Puppy Abandoned In An Airport Bathroom Gets A New Life

Fortunately, a Good Samaritan found Chewy and took him to an Animal Rescue. There, Chewy got the medical attention he needed, along with plenty of snuggles.

The shelter shared Chewy's story in the hopes his mama might see it and take comfort knowing he's safe. Little Chewy became an Internet sensation overnight!

And while there's been no luck in identifying Chewy's original owner, offers have poured in from all over offering to give the sweet pup a loving home. With only one Chewy and so many looking to adopt, the Shelter is using Chewy's fame as an opportunity to help bring attention to the many other rescue pups who need a safe, loving home.

Our prayers go out for Chewy's mama -- that she's somewhere safe and comforted with the knowledge that Chewy is too. This just goes to show that no matter what your circumstances are in life, they can take a turn for the better.
