Olympic Runner Wayde Van Niekerk Gives All Glory To God
The 2016 Rio Olympics have had some pretty incredible moments. But the most impressive thing to me is how many of the athletes are proudly proclaiming their faith in Jesus Christ. And Olympic Runner Wayde van Niekerk is no exception. After shattering the 400m record, he didn't hesitate to place all of the credit right where it belonged -- with our Lord and Savior! Wayde did his home country of South Africa proud when he took gold in the 400m Men's Final. [rsnippet id="3" name="Article-Ad"] And not only did he blow the competition away, but he shattered the 400m world record, set 17 years prior by Michael Johnson, with a time of 43.03 seconds! Just minutes after winning the race, Olympic Runner Wayde van Niekerk was interviewed about his incredible victory. And Wayde immediately refocused the attention on God.“The only thing I can do now is to give God praise,” he said.RELATED: Olympic divers give all the glory to God after silver medal win Wayde tries hard to honor God in all he does. And running is no exception! He even revealed how he used a marker to write “Jesus I am all yours, use me” on his running shoes! The humble athlete also tweeted his appreciation and praise after the race.
