A Man Planned the Perfect Drive-In Date—Then Surprised Her with a Proposal

A man planned the perfect drive-in date–then he surprised her with a proposal of her dreams. There's something undeniably romantic about a drive-in movie. The glow of the big screen, the quiet hum of car engines, blankets draped across truck beds, and the feeling that, for a little while, the rest of the world disappears.

For Faith Ferraiolo, it seemed like the perfect date night. She and her boyfriend, Nathan Kapus, headed to Virginia's Goochland Drive-In Theater to watch Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. At least, that's what Faith thought. What she didn't know was that Nathan had been planning a surprise worthy of the movies for months.

But Nathon had been busy with other plans. Back in March, Nathan secretly contacted the drive-in theater staff to ask in hopes if they would help him create the proposal of Faith's dreams.

"We were honored to work with him on this epic proposal," the theater shared.

As the evening began, the giant movie screen suddenly came to life with a video that wasn't part of the feature presentation. Faith watched in stunned silence as Nathan appeared on the screen with a heartfelt message.

"I love you so much," he said. "I want to spend eternity with you."

Then reality became even sweeter than the movie. In front of all the moviegoers, Nathan took Faith's hand, got down on one knee, opened a ring box, and asked the question she'd never forget.

"Will you marry me?"

Faith Said Yes, and It Was Lovely

With tears, laughter, and complete surprise, Faith said yes. As Nathan slipped the ring onto her finger, the drive-in erupted in applause. Moviegoers cheered, clapped, honked their horns, and shouted, "Congratulations!" The couple embraced as Nathan lifted his new fiancée into the air, celebrating the beginning of forever.

Later, Faith shared just how much the moment meant to her. "Spent my whole life looking for you and now I get to be with you forever, in every lifetime, in every universe," she wrote. "I am so grateful for you, Nathan. Just so utterly in love with you and all that you are."

She also called him her "best friend," "confidant," and "heart and soul."

Some love stories don't just belong on the big screen. Sometimes, they unfold right beneath the stars, reminding us that the most beautiful endings are often just the beginning. And my oh my, Nathon and Faith will have a beautiful love story to share with their kids and grandkids for years to come.

I’ll admit, sometimes it is easier to let people walk all over me than it is to stand up for myself.
