Loyal Dog Waits Weeks Outside Hospital To Be Reunited With Homeless Owner

Mel, a loyal dog waiting weeks outside a Santo Antônio hospital in Brazil, was hoping to be reunited with her homeless owner. And at last, she got to see him again!

Best friends on earth were needed, so God made a dog. He made dogs in all shapes and sizes with hearts so big they would go to the ends of the earth for us. Even if it meant waiting outside a hospital day after day. That’s what Mel did.

But no one really knew why she was hanging out at the hospital. Most people who passed by assumed she was a stray. But that was far from the truth. No one knew her owner was inside the hospital fighting to get back her. 

Staff Notices Dog Waiting Outside Of Hospital

As the days went by, the staff at the hospital noticed she would be waiting outside the doors day after day alone. They eventually took it upon themselves to ensure she was well-fed until they discovered her owner was a homeless man. He was taken in for a serious medical issue, and it was going to take quite some time for him to recover. 

When the hospital staff realized Mel’s owner was in the hospital, they did something truly kind. They made arrangements for Mel’s owner to see her.

When Mel’s owner had recovered enough for walks outside, the hospital staff took him outside for fresh air, daily walks, and to cuddle Mel. In the video, you can see Mel’s owner causally walking outside as Mel races into his arms. 

Isn’t that a beautiful picture? Mel’s owner may be lacking in funds, but he more than makes up for it in the way that he loves her. And Mel definitely has struck gold. Life isn’t made up of comforts–it’s made up of the love and affection we have for each other.
