Birthday Boy Saves Friend From Drowning at His Own Pool Party

One little boy saves a friend from drowning at his own birthday party after underestimating the water's depth. Braxton Phiri and Clark Miron were already close friends, but the incident has brought them even closer. Now, they’re “bros for life.”

It was at Clark’s pool party when Braxton started drowning in the deep water.

“It was his birthday party, and I was excited, so I just jumped in the pool,” Braxton said

Clark’s grandma, Alice Eshelmen, saw Braxton struggling. He didn’t seem to be panicking or calling out for help. She called Clark to help him.

“I think to me that was a huge eye-opening experience, to know that you don’t necessarily ask for help when you need help,” Alice said.

“I saw him drowning, he wasn’t really swimming,” Clark said. “And then I got him.”

“I was like, ‘Thank God,'” Braxtan said. “God sent him to save me.”

Boys Awarded for Bravery

The boys' school in Indiana awarded both boys for their bravery.

“He’s like family to me,” Braxtan said of Clark. “He’s my best friend, and I just love to be with him.”

‘Bros for Life’

Braxton’s mom says the experience deeply bonded the two boys together.

After the incident, the boys got matching hoodies that have “Bros for life!” written across the back.

Well, I have no doubt these young men will have each other’s backs throughout their lives. They are very fortunate to have each other!
