My goal as an artist is to invite viewers into each work for spiritual reflection and discernment. In my earlier works, I used desert imagery and symbolism to express different emotions and life challenges that I was going through. Those earlier works were very cathartic for me as I was dealing with the sickness and deaths of my parents. (mom 2001, dad 2005) I'm so thankful for the time I had my parents on earth. I have grown to see over the years that extreme heartache after losing somebody is the evidence of great love that existed/exists, which is a true blessing. As a Christian, I also see a much greater love that has existed before I ever inhaled a breath; the love of Jesus for me. A saviour when I didn't know I needed saving. A healer when I didn't know I was sick. A friend when I didn't know I was lonely. He is so much more than I could ever imagine, and yet I still yearn to define Him, so that I may know Him more and share all that I discover with others.
