Police couldn’t get into an elderly resident’s home, but as soon as they saw that they could use the doggy door, they knew just who to call for help. The hero might surprise you!

When the officers arrived, they quickly assessed the situation and realized that forcing entry was far from ideal. They didn't want to damage the home, which was clearly cherished by its owner. As they pondered their options, one of the officers noticed a small doggy door near the back of the house. It was too small for any of the officers to fit through, but then Officer Jenkins had a brilliant idea.

Lincoln Dobson Came To Help The Police Force 

A few minutes later, the sound of flip-flops hitting the pavement echoed down the street. Lincoln Dobson, a 9-year-old boy and an honorary member of the Groesbeck Police Force, arrived on the scene. Lincoln had been an honorary officer for quite some time, known for his enthusiasm, quick thinking, and eagerness to help out whenever he could. And today, his size was just what the officers needed.

With a quick nod of encouragement from the officers, Lincoln approached the doggy door. He dropped to his hands and knees before carefully wriggling through the small opening. On the other side, Lincoln found himself in the cozy interior of the home. He quickly made his way to the front door, where he managed to turn the turn the deadbolt and the door swung open.

After successfully unlocking the door, Lincoln humbly said, “It feels good,” when asked about the important work he had done for the police.

Lincoln's Father Was Beaming With Pride 

Officer Tammy Konvicka couldn't agree more, adding, “He saved the day because I wasn’t going to fit through that doggy door.”

Lincoln’s father, Randall Dobson, was beaming with pride. “He’s always eager to help others, and that showed in his response to getting the call,” Randall said. At the time, Lincoln had been enjoying a sunny afternoon at the pool, savoring the last few days of summer. But when Randall informed him about the call, Lincoln didn’t hesitate. “He jumped into action and was ready to go!” Randall recalled.

As the Groesbeck Police and Lincoln’s family reflected on the day's events, they were reminded of the words in Galatians 6:2 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Lincoln’s willingness to help in a time of need was a true example of this verse in action.
