Teens Chase Something Out Of The Bushes And Wind Up Heroes

One Saturday night, two teenaged boys from Mt. Juliet, Tennessee decided to do "something stupid." As a bizarre shape dashed out of the bushes, they decided to chase it. But that something stupid quickly turned into something heroic, as the teens saved a runaway toddler from certain death!

Teenagers can often be impulsive. They don't always think things through. And usually, it gets them in trouble. But for Zech Krinjnic and Dalaurence Holland from Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, it made them heroes.

A Bizarre Figure In The Night

The two boys were hanging out on Zech's porch late one Saturday night when a sudden commotion interrupted their conversation. The noise came from the bushes. And as the boys looked over the porch railing, they saw a figure dash toward the road!

With their imaginations running wild, the two wondered if the mysterious figure might be a ghost. The startled boys could have easily raced back inside to the safety of the home.

But Zech and Dalaurence just couldn't help themselves. They HAD to see for themselves what had made all the commotion.

“I don’t know, I guess I’m 15, a teenager,” Dalaurence explained. “I thought, 'let’s do something stupid and chase it and see what it is.' "

As they ran toward the road, Zech pulled out his phone and dialed 911. And it's a good thing. As they got closer, they realized the "something" from the bushes was a 3-year-old girl. And by now, she was in the middle of the road!

Teens Saved A Runaway Toddler

Seeing the little girl in the middle of the road was scary enough. But then, Dalaurence spotted something truly terrifying.

“I saw headlights coming up the hill,” he recalled.

The headlights belonged to a truck barreling straight for the runaway toddler. And that's when Dalaurence decided to do something incredibly courageous.

With no regard for his own safety, the brave teen dashed out into the street, grabbing the little girl just in the nick of time!

Police are investigating how and why the little girl was unattended and running around outside so late. And everyone is praising Zech and Dalaurence for their heroic deed. God clearly put them in the right place at the right time!

But, it's not the praise that matters. The boys feel blessed to have saved a life.

“Joy,” Dalaurence said, explaining how he felt after the incident. "I just started crying and was like, ‘Oh my God, we just did something incredible.’”

What a lovely reminder of how, even though teenagers often get a bad rap, there is still lots of good in the younger generation!
