If You’re Feeling Heart Broken, These 3 Prayers Will Help Pick You Up!

Lean On God In Times Of Trouble

There are so many things in this world that can break a heart. The fact is, suffering is a part of life. But He is with us through it all! So, if you are currently experiencing heartbreak (or know someone who is), make sure these 3 things are on your prayer list!

1) Let God Lighten Your Load

Come to me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke on you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest to your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. -- Matthew 11:28-30

Let’s face it - life is tough. And when it rains, it often pours, and it doesn’t take long before it feels like you are drowning in a sea of troubles! Don’t carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. God doesn’t want you to be overburdened. He offers you rest in Him. Whatever is weighing you down, whatever is burdening your heart, turn it over to God. He does not want you to be vexed or worried, but instead in 1 Peter 5:7 instructs us to be ‘casting all anxiety upon Him, because He careth for you.’ Pray that God will help to lighten your load.

2) Seek God

The Lord is near the broken-hearted; he is the saviour of those whose spirits are crushed down. -- Psalms 34:18

When something goes wrong, typically one of the first things we do is confide in someone we love and trust. It’s human nature to seek comfort when we are hurting. Make God your first call for help. He does not expect us to go it alone. Rather, He wants us to come to Him when we are down. God loves you even more than your friends and family love you! Go to Him in prayer and tell Him exactly what you’re feeling. Pray that He draws closer to you during this difficult time.

3) Turn Your Tears Over To God

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. -- Revelation 21:4

It pains God to see His children crying. But they come with the suffering that is a part of life. However, God promises to wipe all of those tears away when we depart from this world and enter into His kingdom. Let the promise of the future carry you through the troubles of today. Pray for healing, and let the Spirit fill you with a sense of peace!

We are so blessed to have an almighty God who loves us as His children. Not only does He love us, but He longs to have a relationship with us. Trust is an important part of any relationship. So, praise God when times are good, but also turn to Him when they are not. He will see you through!

A Prayer to Deepen Your Faith This Christmas Season - Your Daily Prayer - December 7

God's Word doesn't say, "You will not face trials of any kind so long as your life is filled with joy." What it tells us is that we will face trials throughout all of life, and to count it as joy, which will lead to steadfastness.
