Two Grandmas Were In Danger When 5 and 7-yr-old Did The Unexpected
November 16, 2017

“Please help, I think my granny is dying!”Even though George was very worried at the sight of his grandmother's condition, he kept calm. He knew he needed help and did exactly what he should to find nearby adults. They turned her over and began life saving procedures until the ambulance arrived. Thankfully due to George's quick thinking and response, Lesley was able to be revived and taken to the hospital. They believe that she suffered an epileptic seizure. When word reached George's school, his headmaster was quick to praise him. George is a great example to his classmates.
“We are very proud of George. He showed a sensible approach for a boy of his age. He kept his cool under extremely difficult circumstances and to respond as he did was amazing.”George's Mom, Hannah, is of course very proud of her son.
“For a seven-year-old boy to witness something so horrific, but have the presence of mind to actually go off and find someone to help, as opposed to just sit there and cry and wait for help to come to him is just amazing.”The boy was even so calm as to help the paramedics call his Mom from the ambulance on the way to the hospital!
Another Unexpected Hero
A 5-year-old girl in Ohio surprised everyone when she too saved her Grandmother's life by calling 9-1-1. Rose lives with her grandmother, Beverly Lipps. One day she noticed her grandmother wasn't acting normally. Rose quickly called 9-1-1. Her quick thinking gave them time to act. She told us that something was not right and her grandmother was ill, so she called 911,” McClain said. “This is a hero. She did something that stepped out of her comfort zone. She remained calm, courageous, and she helped her grandmother.”Rose's grandmother was suffering a stroke. As with many medical crisis' the time it takes to get the person in crisis to medical help is very important. Beverly is alive and walking today because Rose was so quick to get her help.
“I’m very proud of her. It takes my heart; I’m kind of in tears,” Rose’s grandmother added. “It still brings me to tears to think that she saved my life. I’m very proud of her, and it means a lot to me. I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for that little girl.”At Rose's school, her principal, Andy Arn, took the opportunity to thank her for her heroism and also to remind other children how to help others.
“You don’t have to be a grownup to be a leader [or] an eighth grader to be a leader,” Arn said to the students. “You can be a leader no matter how big or how small you are.”
Grandmas Are Proud
These two young children show that anyone can be a hero and help someone else! Children need to know how to recognize they need to find help. Situations like Lesley and Beverly are great reasons to talk with children as soon as possible about emergency plans. George and Rose have made their families very proud. We are sure that their Grandmas are telling all their neighbors and friends about their brave, smart grandkids! h/t: Alton Herald and News Daily Toast YOU MAY ALSO LIKE: 87-Year-Old Too Ill to Attend Grandson’s Wedding Finds Way to See Ceremony Credit: MetroToday's Devotional
