Jim Gaffigan Explains the Joke God Plays on Moms and Dads

Jim Gaffigan explains the joke that God seems to play on moms and dads. The popular comedian stated that there is a particular funny move that the good Lord pulls on many parents. Watch the short video to hear Jim mention the joke he believes the Almighty plays on mothers and fathers. I’ve got a feeling many parents will be nodding their heads in agreement.

Children are a monumental blessing to any and every household. They add an incredible amount of love and happiness to every parent’s life. Once you become a parent, your life will never be the same. It will be changed and impacted for the better in every imaginable way.

However, as great as children are, not every moment with them will be memorable or fun. Sometimes, they will wear thin on your nerves. That is generally true, especially when those youngsters reach their teenage years. Those are the years when they are experiencing changes and typically want to exert more control over their lives and will push and test boundaries.

In a clip posted on social media, Jim Gaffigan mentions how the teenage years are God’s best joke on parents. He adds God pulls this joke just as mothers and fathers are starting to believe they’ve gotten a handle on this parenting thing.

“Parenting is the only thing you can do for 13, 13 years, and then suddenly you’re really bad at it,” he said. “It’s God’s cruelest joke. Because you know He’s sitting up there just watching. He’s like, ‘They think they’re pretty good at the parenting thing, huh? Watch this: Cue the hormones!’”

Many mothers and fathers are likely to agree with Jim’s assessment that God has a sense of humor, particularly when parents start to believe they have everything figured out. Even as parents, there is always more to learn, and God has repeatedly shown that He is a great teacher and will use many different avenues to impart lessons, knowledge and wisdom.

Proverbs 22:6 “If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
