Tim Conway’s Oldest Man Butcher Shop Sketch Is Comedy Perfection

As his oldest man character, Tim Conway running a butcher shop in a sketch, is comedy perfection. Fellow comedic genius Harvey Korman joins the comedy legend in the classic Carol Burnett Show skit. Watch the hysterical clip to see the legendary comedy duo in the skit that will have you laughing from beginning to end.

Specific names are so closely associated with quality and excellence that whenever we hear them, we instantly know what we’re getting, and we won’t be disappointed. For instance, brand names like Coca-Cola, John Deere, Apple and Nike fall into that exclusive category. Whenever we get something made by one of those well-known brands, we can rest assured that we have received a top-of-the-line product from a highly respected company.

Similar to brands, the same could also be said for some people. Whenever the name Tim Conway was involved with or attached to something, you knew the show, movie or skit would result in nonstop laughter. More often than not, it would become a classic, which happened nearly every time Tim appeared as his Oldest Man character on The Carol Burnett Show, especially when he was paired up with Harvey Korman.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Tim, as the Oldest Man, is the proprietor of a butcher shop. The establishment is empty, that is, until Harvey, as a stressed-out customer who is in a hurry to get home, strolls through the door. Soon after entering, Harvey barks out his order, stating that he needs “a pound and a half of ground round.”

Things quickly go from bad to worse for Harvey, and it looks like the slow-moving butcher will have an immense amount of trouble correctly fulfilling his order. Tim orders Harvey to take a number even though the store is entirely void of other customers, which only serves to agitate an already angry and upset Harvey.

By the end of the hysterical skit, Harvey is standing in the middle of the establishment in his underwear and has raised the suspicions of a police officer.

Job 8:21 “The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips.”
