From a family of musician parents, Samuel Iglesias was born and raised in the big city of Santiago, in the South American country of Chile. He initiated his musical discovery at a young age by playing the piano by ear, which would become his primary instrument. During his teenage years, he was called to musicianship by entering the Concert Pianist program at Universidad Mayor in 2010, where he was meticulously trained by remarkable piano interpreters: French pianist Alexandra Aubert and Polish pianist Ewa Jasinska. In a similar manner, he began producing electronic music, playing drums, and composing by ear at the age of fourteen, and teaching private lessons at fifteen. In 2016, he went overseas to enroll in the Commercial Music program at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he is currently enriching his work and dedication as a performing musician in jazz and other demanding contemporary styles of music. Later on, Samuel took the decision to consolidate his musical knowledge and compositional tools by additionally majoring in Music Theory and Composition in the same school.
Samuel has been awarded for his achievements in both piano performance, electronic production skills, and other academic endeavors. He was granted the 1st Place at the Universidad Mayor’s Student Piano Contest in 2011, earned the Honorable Mention twice by the gospel electronic duo Capital Kings at the U:REMIX Contest in 2013, was inducted into the Trevecca Nazarene University Honor Society in 2017, the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society in 2018, won the "Brainiac" Award in the same University in 2019, and the 1st place of Trevecca Nazarene University's Annual Orchestral Composition Competition that same year.
