Some of these comments are just hysterical. This man was given a vision of the next world, and everyone is worried because he was not part of their particular club. Maybe God is not a Christian. Or even religious. I wonder if anyone here actually wondered about that. Man-made mythology is one thing. Real Life is another. And what this man experienced was real life, and not man-made beliefs. The Great Divine has shown time and time again that what you believe is irrelevant. It is how much love you give your fellow man that builds Heaven, and gives you the spiritual strength to enter.

I see a lot of comments questioning the experience without Jesus being mentioned or questioning his relationship with God. But how better to reveal himself then through a scientific non-believing mind (if that is in fact his views, as I do not know this). We are not to question how God reveals himself, he is not bound by our understanding.

You cannot rationalize God. That's what makes Him so awesome. He will learn a lot, now that his journey has begun.

I say we start praying for him. It would be tragic for this man to come to a realization of a heaven, and taste it once only to never be able to return. Lets pray that God will send him someone who will show him the way and that his heart will accept Jesus, the only way to heaven. Billy Grahmn once said that you never know who is praying for someone. We may very well be the only people in this man's life who are praying for him. We don't know his circle? Lets all seriously commit him to prayer.

I WENT THROUGH SIMILAR: I went towards this bright light, WHEN I WAS SUFFERING A SERIOUS INFECTION. I SAW PARADISE, SOOTHING MUSIC THAT I NEVER HEARD BEFOR. WILD ANIMALS LICKING BABIES FACES. ISAW, I HEARD, IFELT THAT I WAS IN HEAVEN WITH "GOD" THE NEXT THING I KNEW IWAS VOMITING FROM A BLOOD TRANSFUSION. TOTAL PEACE AND TRANQUILITY AWAITS!

What a bunch of bullshit! Especially after reading many of the comments. Is it any wonder religion is going downwards in this country? And all I can say is I can't wait until it's completely eliminated.

This doctor has now become a devout CHRISTIAN! This experience led him to know there is more to life than this earthly experience. The Bible tells us God is love - he experienced that love. \o/

1 Thess4:15-17 "For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord." We all go to Heaven at the Second Coming, when Jesus returns to the earth. Not when we die. We are just asleep until then.

I just worry about the fact that people will think we can all come to this wonderful place all by ourselves..... We cannot and a lot of people are going to be in for a big 'surprise'.

I am a profound believer, and yet I realize there are many people who need some kind of scientific justification to believe in heaven. This is so big and marvelous, it seems to me that it will draw people into God's circle without having to preach and explain in a religious way. Jesus will always be near, he is trying to come into all walks of life. Many folks are skeptical about Christianity, and to come to this experience through the words of neuroscience can be a strong incentive to go farther and want to learn more. God is so great and merciful, He knows how difficult it is to overcome disbelief. Jesus manifests in so many wonderful ways. I thank God for this man and his courage to challenge logic, and the scientific world he was a part of to speak of his experience.

I'm a bit skeptical about his account. Every single near-death experience I've heard about has Jesus as a central "character". Yet, this man barely mentions God.

His experience mirrors many others I have heard about. He was clearly descending before a light came and pulled him up. He says the experience changed his life from a Christian in name only to a real and devout one. Sounds like God at work to me. The part about descending in the muck and seeing roots is rather terrifying. If he would have kept descending he would have reached a very well known and horrific place called Hell.

We shouldn't question what God decides to do. If He did show him a glimpse of heaven and/or hell, then it is God's decision. It won't bring anyone of us further to argue about it or even judge anyone here! What we should do is THANK God for what has happened - because the Bible says we should thank God for everything - and pray for that Doctor to develop an intimate relationship to God! bless you all! =)

This is interesting to watch..... I am amazed that the LORD would allow him to see what death and life is and even to see the universe like that. I wonder if that shook him to the realization that he needs JESUS for the next time he gets sick might just be his last!

In Acts chapter 10 there was a man by the name of Cornelius. He was God fearing, devout and generous. But even though he was what we might call a good man, his goodness wasn't enough to get him to heaven. God gave Cornelius a vision, and in that vision he was told to send for the Lords servant Peter. Peter came and proclaimed the good news ( I have been using words from the NIV) of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. "They killed him by hanging him on a tree, but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen." Acts 10:32 "All the prophets testify about him that EVERYONE who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."- verse 44. This Doctor is an everyone. YOU ARE AN EVERYONE! You can receive forgiveness of for your sins. Christians are no better than anyone else, they have humbly confessed that they (including me) have sinned against a Holy God and need the salvation that only comes through Jesus, the long awaited Jewish Messiah and Lord. Those gathered did believe as evidenced by their receiving the Holy Spirit. At Christmas time, I like to be the one who hands the gift to my children. The only thing they can do is humbly receive the gift and say thank you. Will you turn away from sin, turn to Jesus thanking GOD RIGHT NOW for the death of his Son in your place on the cross and receive the gift of salvation?

He claims to have been escorted by an unknown female companion and says he communicated with these beings through a method of correspondence that transcended language. Alexander says the messages he received from those beings loosely translated as: "You are loved and cherished, dearly, forever." "You have nothing to fear. ****"There is nothing you can do wrong."****. These are quotes from Eben. He is either clearly lying, and was deceived of the devil. "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." and again "There is none that doith right, no not one" Read the first chapter of romans. Read any of the gospels, find anything that remotely comes close to saying "there is nothing you can do wrong?"
