Skit Guys - I Had Sex

It's such a difficult subject matter. I think that ultimately, even after much discussion with your kids, they will make the choice that they feel most fitting for them at the time. It's sad to say, but not all kids are really sure that adults understand what they're feeling or going through. It's as if to them, we were never kids once ourselves. They don't believe that we have experienced a lot of what they experience themselves. I do encourage much talking and sharing your personal feelings with your kids. Just know that their is no guarantee that they will apply your knowlegde with their ultimate decision.

Why do we have to be hit over the head about this subject on this website when we are repeatedly exposed to the consequences of these actions on a daily basis thru the media---not to mention the Bible, so since no one was concerned about what God has to say about self-control, the video is worthless.

WOW---So many pecious hearts-- feel emotionally insecure and turn to sex to fullfill the need and it gets worse from there.

Powerful! I see this as about so much more than "the talk." It's about being there. Really being there for our kids. Involved in their lives. Interested in their interests. Available when they need us. Listening. I could go on but I think you get the idea. I'm going to go home and hug my teenage daughters!

The skit "I Had Sex" by the Skit Guys was great! Sad to say, there are many of us fathers and mothers who identify with this picture, Christian and non-Christian alike. We choose not to listen or truly hear to understand the heart cry of of our daughter or son. We dismiss learning issues at school, disagreements with teachers, odd dressing behaviors, association changes, posture, moodiness, anger, and fear as being part of a growing up discipline issues, when in reality, it's only a symptom of a deeper problem. We parents also become so wrapped up in our own emotion that we forget the importance of reassuring our daughter or son by saying, "I love you" in spit of the situation. "I forgive you." Yes, it is positive to talk to children about sex at home since children are taught a imposed misrepresentation of fact in public school from friends, bullies and teachers, but if children at any age feel unloved, rejected or unaccepted even at home, they will look in all the wrong places to fill their emptiness. And this is the epidemic we see in our country which far exceeds any morality issue. When we parents are so busy running our own lives, achieving our goals, climbing to the top of our corporate ladder, doing our own thing, that we have nothing left to give back to our children. And TV, X-box games, computer games and movies are a poor substitute. Education does not begin in the classroom or at a friends house, it begins at home. Children learn what they live.

It's funny cause they only come to you after it's too late. Even when you have the talk, they don't listen but I quess we have to try.
