Dad Jumps Up And Down After Learning Daughter Is Cancer-Free
Just a couple of years ago, Victoria Glosson and her family received some of the worst news possible when she went to get a cramp checked on.
After their good news went viral, her dad said, “It’s a nightmare that came true. You never expect that to happen to your kid. We got that news and it was one of our kids.”
No matter what age, having a child with a possibly life-threatening diagnosis would turn your world upside down. Victoria was only 21 years old when she was told she had stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The family broke down in tears in the exam room.
Following almost two years of chemotherapy and taking a long list of daily medications, Victoria and her mom went to her scheduled PET scan for an update. Despite her exhausting, constant battle with cancer, Victoria never wanted to drop out of nursing school. She didn’t want it to control her life.
Only a few months after her cancer diagnosis, Victoria’s doctor found a 4-inch blood clot in her heart. Luckily, she had a newer procedure done to remove the clot to avoid open-heart surgery. This warrior of a woman also had a stem cell transplant and never gave up.
Her loving parents had only ever wanted the world for her, and then they had to pray that their baby girl would open her eyes the next day. They both did everything in their power to help her through nursing school and everything else she wanted to do.
That’s why her dad, Deputy Barry Glosson, couldn’t help but jump for joy when he got the good news. Nobody thought that Victoria would make it, but her parents and sister get to continue spending life’s special moments with her.
And of course, why just tell him the news when you can make him guess! Victoria had her dad read her lips while he had music blasting in his ears. It even took him a second after saying, “cancer-free” to realize what he just said.
Victoria’s mom shared, “I can say we were very angry. We were at the bottom of the bottom, and it was a huge walk with God to get to where we are today. We counted every blessing we got.”
God bless Victoria, her family, and all the medical professionals that cheered her on during her battle. You are a blessing and inspiration to this world, Victoria!
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 1 John 5:14-15
