Family Band's Stellar Performance of CCR's 'Down On The Corner'
An incredibly talented family band put on a stellar cover performance of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s classic “Down on the Corner.”
Music, like fashion, is constantly changing. Bands and musicians are always trying different sounds to stay current with the public’s preferences. Those who do not adapt to what the public and their audience want will likely be left behind.
However, some bands, very few, are exceptions to that rule. That’s how you can know and identify when a particular band or song is a classic. Years after a tune was initially released, it’s still just as popular as the day it first hit the radio.
One of those bands that has produced several classic songs was Creedence Clearwater Revival. The band and its songs are so beloved that they are often known and referred to by three letters: CCR.
One of CCR’s most beloved songs is “Down on the Corner.” In a clip posted on YouTube, a family band, The Clark Family Creative, covered that song, which is an outstanding cover. Even those who are diehard CCR fans are sure to love this family’s awe-inspiring and spectacular rendition.
That song’s chorus is one that, once you hear it, it’s stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
“Down on the corner, out in the street
Willy and the poor boys are playin’
Bring a nickel, tap your feet”
They all sound absolutely fantastic. Dad and the young lady, who stands at the microphone and is a ball of energy throughout the clip, have terrific voices. The two young men, one on the guitar and the other banging on the drums, are also clearly musically gifted.
They sound this good while sitting in their living room, making their performance even more noteworthy. Three members of the family band even remain seated during their performance.
Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
