Became a Christian in 1975...
I was a frontman in a Christian Rock Band back in the later 80's into the early 90's...playing in the NW Wisconsin and Minneapolis area. I have been a youth pastor three times, a key administrator for the Salvation Army...and now back in the education/teaching role.
My ambitions were not to use youth ministry as a stepping stone to become an #!ociate pastor or senior, and I simply outgrew (or aged beyond my potential to remain "cool"). The few things that have remained constant in the 32 years of my faith is the Lord's hand upon me and the need to grow, my being an artist and musician...and my relationship to my wife and sons.
I live now in a virtual desert spiritually...a logging community in a national forest where spiritual things, what a youth pastor is and so forth are unheard of. I have used this time to discover further potential as an artist, and my music...yet hoping for God to fill in the spaces, as do we all.
I produced two music cd's of my own writing, the latest a venture into modern acoustic folk instrumentalisation. As a painter, I have a book out and a one hour painting dvd. I have arrived at a time in life where success redefines itself, and what reputation one has or opportunities leading to financial success comes one's way matters less...and living life in such a way to be content in all things, and celebrate another day has greatest meaning.
A Prayer for a Courageous Soul - Your Daily Prayer - April 26
We have been given a remarkable gift through God and His redemption story. Not only have we received eternal life with our Creator, but we have received courage in Christ that will change the trajectory of our lives and the lives of those around us forever.
