I was born and raised in a Lutheran church, baptized as an infant. I was confirmed, sung in college and church choirs, led youth groups, served in various roles on the Parish Planning Council (PPC), and was on the Board of Directors for a local Lutheran Jr/Sr High School. Eventually I found church services boring (services begining on page 5 and 32 had long since been memorized), and asked our pastor about something a little more personal or free... he said he wasn't comfortable with that. After I got divorced I started looking for a new church. Long story short (including the song "Heart of Worship"), I found a bible teaching church in Las Vegas (Hope Baptist Church) that was very involved in God's activity throughout the world. I went on a 1-week short-term mission trip to Honduras, and now lead trips there annually and plan to go into mission work after I retire in 1 1/2 years. It's a great life!
