In 1999, Nicholas Maddox and Antonio Parker met. They quickly found a common interest in God and music. The two Washington, D.C. natives attended different high schools, but remained close friends. In 2003, the two began their collegiate educations in North Carolina where they would meet Charles Sands, Jr. through a mutual friend, songwriter, and musician. That same year the boys had written their first two hit songs, Prodigal Son and Serve the Lord.
Since then, the trio has formed the group “His Image†citing Romans 8:28-29 which states, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose. For whom He did foreknow, He did also predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be the first born of many bretheren.â€
The group is currently finishing their self-titled first album, His Image. This release will include several of the groups hit songs including Have Faith, Dwell in Me, Serve the Lord, and I Need Thee. The cd has something for everyone.
Today the group consists of a four-piece band –Charles Sands Jr., keyboard/piano; Alonzo Ferrell, drums/percussion; JC. Martin, lead guitar; and Orlando Thompson, b%#; and seven singers, Sapranos Selma Smith and Charlene White; Tenors Joseph Anthony, Nicholas Maddox, and Antonio Parker; Altos Jessica Bloomer and Goldie Ingram–all of whom desire to Serve the Lord.
A Prayer for a Courageous Soul - Your Daily Prayer - April 26
We have been given a remarkable gift through God and His redemption story. Not only have we received eternal life with our Creator, but we have received courage in Christ that will change the trajectory of our lives and the lives of those around us forever.
