There are moments in history when a door for massive change opens. Great revolutions for good or evil occur in the vacuum created by these openings. It is in these moments that key men and women - sometimes entire generations - risk everything to become the hinge of history. That pivotal point determines which way the door will swing. Today, America stands at a critical juncture in this precarious hour of our nations history. While the promise of a Great Awakening can be seen on the horizon, a brief glance at the headlines of our daily newspapers exposes the frailty of the moral fabric of our nation as the corruption of sin digs its claws deeper and deeper in the hearts and minds of our young people. The serpentine stranglehold of abortion continues to squeeze the life out of 1.5 million wombs every year in our nation wiping out nearly one-third of an entire generation born since 1973. The growing slave trade of pornography, homo#uality, human trafficking and $#!$ual perversion - not only accepted by the culture but now shamelessly promoted by it, has claimed countless young men and women pilfering the kingdom of the Lords inheritance. Further still, a generation has been successfully seduced by the neutralizing wares of Hollywood and is held spellbound by the fading American dream of faster cars and bigger homes, all the while forfeiting their souls. But its always darkest before the dawn, and this dark night is about to break as a new breed is poised to enter into its finest hour. For when it seems like there is no hope for a nation, when it seems like there is no remedy, God still has a holy prescription - Blow the trumpet in Zion, consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly. (Joel 2) The age-old promise still remains; when we humble ourselves and seek God in corporate prayer and fasting, He promises that He will pour out His spirit upon us (Joel 2:28). Even now, the rumblings of a burgeoning prayer reformation are beginning to reverberate again signaling the possibility of a new Jesus Movement that will sweep from coast to coast. Now is the time to seize this divine moment and contend for a new Great Awakening to touch our nation again. Who knows? God may still turn and relent as a nation humbles itself in corporate gatherings of fasting and prayer.
