What you have to realize is that Furler wasn't even the original lead singer of the Newsboys. Furler was originally the drummer and Phil Joel sang lead.

ColdChills We love Furler as much as anybody, but the dcTalk reunion part of the tour only works if Michael Tait fronts.

P.S. Will McGinniss was always my favorite bandmember; seeing him once again, long-haired and playing bass... Suffice to say I may have lost a little objectivity.

In the end, it is about worshiping God (which ColdChills admitted earlier). However, musical critique and nostalgia have their place, and considering the legacy of your brothers and respecting a musical collection that brought joy and comfort to many also honors God, simply by being good and honorable action. ColdChills: I find myself torn. On the one hand, I agree with you; Audio Adrenaline was something special, and somewhere alongside the greater message and the greater good was the simple joy of great music featuring a great voice from a specific group of men, and I don't want that memory "tarnished." On the other hand, this new work is eternally true, lyrically clever, and musically skilled; which means it "is" Audio Adrenaline in all the ways that first attracted me to them. I have always loved Audio A's ability to say (more poetically than I can here) "We are the children of the risen King, these worn out clothes are the earthly robes of heavenly royalty; so stand, and fight." Audio A had a way of reminding me that my daily routine was a stand against the powers and principalities of Hell, and this song does the same. I miss the Peter Furler years, but If Jon James' bandmates had followed your and my logic, there wouldn't have been Peter Furler years.

so no band ever re-invents itself or evolves? really? hmmmmm

  • 2012-10-11T15:34:36

Seriously--is it about you and your preferences & opinions anyway Cold chills, or is it about WORSHIPING GOD?

I have been waiting to hear what Auio A was going to sound like. Wow. Nicely done. Spent some time in Grand Goave and visited Jacmel. Smiles were wonderful to see.

Coldchills, it never was about Audio Adrenaline or Newsboys or their "legacy", it's always been about the kingdom! They are putting their platform to use to advance the kingdom and to bring Jesus to the poor. Not to mention that this is a beautifully moving song and K Max fits it perfectly. It's good to see K Max in his element, such a powerful voice.

I like the sound, but it is not at all Audio Adrenaline. I understand they wanted to use the name recognition but the style is not even remotely the same, so in my opinion it is not the same band. The same goes for Newsboys. Kevin and Michael T, in my opinion, are not very good solo artists. That's what worked with DCT. I don't think you can call a band the same name if they are fundamentally and musically different.

I don't think DC talk reunion is going to happen. research to see why.

  • 2012-10-10T05:03:13

Now that Kevin sings in the group, will be my favorite band AudioA.

  • 2012-10-10T04:59:03

Kevin Max has the best voice in the world ColdChills...

  • 2012-10-10T03:54:04

It's already several places on YOutube

  • 2012-10-10T02:49:33

I agree - Newsboys and dcTalk I hear.

  • 2012-10-10T01:35:58
