Life is all about choices and each choice you make has a consequence. Depending on the choices you make the consequence will be negative or positive. Before I received eternal life I was afraid of failure. As a result of that fear I ran from anything that could bring success in my life. I dropped out of college, I didnÃât pursue writing jobs, I ran from my marriage and family, and I quit a lot of jobs once I started to get promotions. I had a strong fear of standing up for what I believe and as a result I choose to make many irresponsible decisions and I began running to a lot of bad habits. December 31, 2005 I was in the club partying with friends and I was unhappy. In a crowd full of smiling faces I was a sad clown and nobody could wipe away my tears. The next morning I began thinking about my marriage, career, and my life in general and I made a decision that it was time for change. January 1, 2006 I went to church and I thought somebody was playing a joke on me when I heard the Pastor preach a sermon titled ÃâGet it fixed in 2006.Ãâ Pastor Ervin Smith gave an invitation for prayer and that day all my fear left. I boldly walked in front of the church and with the most courage I have ever had I received Jesus as my savior. The fear of failure has been replaced with courage and now I am an up and coming author. I have published The Great Invitation a collection of monologues and have accepted many invitations to do public speaking. Now I chase all of my dreams and fear is not an option because I trust that God is with me always. The greatest joy in my life is sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with total strangers because I know previously I would never have had the courage to try. - Glory be to God
A Morning Prayer for God to Be Near - Your Daily Prayer - May 14
God’s Word tells us that His nearness is good for us (Psalm 73:28) because with His nearness, which is wonderful in itself, we also receive His goodness.
