Jesus Is the Light for Your Life, Part 9 (Just Jesus Evangelistic Campaign, Day 109)

TEXT: John 8:12-32
Randolph Tasker said, "[Continuing in Jesus' words means] welcoming it, being at home with it, and living with it so continuously that it becomes part of your life -- a permanent influence and stimulus in every fresh advance in goodness and holiness."

When a person accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior, one of the questions that is often raised is: How does one know for sure that that is what they have done? In the midst of His discussion with the Jewish religious leaders in John 8, we must remember that many people were gathered around listening. While the leaders struggled to come to terms with Jesus' words, the Bible tells us that "as Jesus spake these words, many believed on him."

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed." Believing in Jesus is not just verbal or mental assent to His teachings. There are many people who believe that what Jesus taught is good. We can call this crowd the "Jesus is a good guy" crowd. And that is what believing in Jesus ultimately looks like -- a change in the way you live....
