Hi, my name is Brian Smith. I was born into a non-christian home in 1945. However my parents were in the habit of attending church, and so I was brought up under the sound preaching of the gospel. Some time before I entered my teens, my mother and my sister were saved. Although I am unable to point to a particular date or time, it must have been shortly after this that the Lord graciously did a saving work in my own heart, and drew me to Himself. As I look back over the last fifty or so years since that time, I am amazed at the goodness and faithfulness of God. In the Bible He says “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.” Joh 10:14. Like the Good Shepherd, He has supplied my every need; when I have deliberately wandered away into trouble, He has restored my soul and gently turned my feet back into the paths of righteousness, for His own name’s sake. I can honestly say with the psalmist, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” Psa 23:6. Having now reached retirement, I would like to spend whatever further time God grants me, in encouraging and sharing with others, God’s goodness and mercy through Christ. My prayer would be “O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.” Psa 71:17-18. This little website is my feeble attempt to do just that.
