Jenn Johnson Releases Debut Solo Album 'Happy'

GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter and worship leader Jenn Johnson releases her debut solo album, HAPPY. Available now on all streaming platforms, the project releases alongside its focus track, "Happy," featuring Abbie Gamboa, accompanied by an official visualizer.

The 12-track project is a deeply personal offering from Bethel Music’s co-founder and president, whose contributions have helped shape modern worship for more than two decades.

"My new album, HAPPY, is a mosaic – a walk through my life,” says Johnson. “A mosaic is made from broken pieces that come together to create something beautiful. In many ways, that’s what life looks like. Moments of joy, moments of heartbreak, seasons of growing, and seasons of healing. But through it all, God is present. This album is both a testimony and a promise that no matter what we walk through, God is always putting the pieces together and making something beautiful."

Of the title track, Johnson adds, “It was so fun writing ‘Happy’ with Abbie, Gabe, and Oscar Gamboa. Having kids is the best thing in the world – we started writing about how completely obsessed we are with our kids and how happy they make us. This song is all about love…the kind that sees every detail, knows every part, and loves them fully, no matter what. It's a reflection of how we see our kids, and also how our Heavenly Father sees us and sings over us."

HAPPY combines authentic worship, country warmth and pop influences into a sound that is both deeply personal and widely accessible. Featuring guest collaborations with Gamboa, Tiffany Hudson, Brooke Ligertwood, Kari Jobe Carnes, Brian Johnson and others, the album reflects a deep need for God, a longing to know Him more fully, and the joy found in walking with Him each day.

Blending songs that are both intimate and worshipful, HAPPY offers a soundtrack for Sunday mornings and everyday life alike; a reminder that true happiness is found in His presence.

The album arrives on the heels of several previously released singles, including the country- inspired "Here In Your Arms" written and recorded with Johnson's husband Brian; "Thank You Lord" featuring Brooke Ligertwood; "Walk With Me" featuring Elevation Worship’s Tiffany Hudson; and "Mad At God."

Known for her powerful, emotive vocals and heartfelt songwriting, Johnson has contributed as a writer and vocalist on 18 Bethel Music albums, co-writing global worship anthems including “Goodness of God,” “The Blood,” and “Holy Forever,” the latter earning a 2025 GRAMMY nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song in a version featuring CeCe Winans.
