The TGIF Recovery group started in 1996 with John Lancaster, Jon and Lyneise Nesbitt, David Williams, Jan, and several others. We started meeting as a home group and then met in the old fellowship hall at New Beginnings Fellowship. The name TGIF (Thank God Im Free) Recovery was birthed around that time. They were all discussing a name for the group and TGIF kept coming up. Then John Lancaster said "That is it TGIF - Thank God Im Free!"
