I am one of the 2 founding members of the Christ-centered group, "Broken Oaks", Celtic Christian Ministry Music. And as you may notice from the harmonies and other instrumentation, there are at least three others involved on any given song.

The other main member is none other then my Super-awesomely, talented, not to mention good-looking, and all around humble guy -- who is my husband -- Mr. Joe Devine. That makes me the Mrs.

I always joke around with Joe and tell him that no matter how many letters they put after my name, the most important ones are those ones that come before it -- M.R.S. : )

Anyhow, Joe plays, guitar, bass, does harmony, high guitar and a few other instruments. In his former [non-converted life] he played Irish fight music in pubs all over the Northeast. He is half Irish and most people think his unique guitar style is what really make us sound......errrr... well, not like everyone else. : ) Proof that God can take years spent in the most unsavory environment and use them in preparation for making HIS music instead! Isn't God gracious to us?

On to our other band members:

Patricia DiCarlo is a long time friend and super talented music partner of ours. She plays the keyboard, percussion, and most importantly brings her angelic, well-crafted harmonies to the mix in Broken Oaks.

Also our friend Dave Armento you may hear on some of the Broken Oaks tunes, providing high guitar melodies, and once in a while the banjo. He also has a [shall we say] unique sense of humor -- too bad you cannot appreciate that from the videos.

And last but certainly NOT least, Scott Apicelli, is the drummer you will hear on the more rythymic Broken Oaks songs. He too is REALLY talented and sits in on many of our songs.

Oh, yeah, Well -- I guess by now you know that I am Julie. I get to have the most fun and perhaps "easiest" job of all! I function as the lead worshiper and play the flute, which is REALLY a blessing for me since we serve such an amazing father.

Want to know a secret, though? I am probably the least talented of all the guys in Broken Oaks, but God just lets me do this wonderful worship leading in order to bring people to HIM. And, I will NEVER stop thanking him for such an amazing blessing as this after the life I lived!

Praise HIM and have a GREAT day.
Julie
A Prayer for a Courageous Soul - Your Daily Prayer - April 26
We have been given a remarkable gift through God and His redemption story. Not only have we received eternal life with our Creator, but we have received courage in Christ that will change the trajectory of our lives and the lives of those around us forever.
